Chuck Hester: Linking In to Pay it Forward
Posted by
Rachel Pradhan
Chuck Hester, LinkedIn expert, was on the call this Friday – and what an amazing amount of information! Not only did we learn how to easily gain more connections, but how to be authentic on the web. By simply asking the question, “How may I be of service to you?” we open the conversation and relationship with our potential clients and power partners. We’ll be reviewing some of what Chuck had talked about this Friday, from 10-11am PST. To learn more, please visit our Live Webinars page.
Total time of audio: 58 minutes.
If you liked the class, please leave a comment, and let other coaches know! Thanks!

John Gray: coaches need to be true to their essence

I’m really excited to offer my first interview, using my *new* Kodak zi6 video camera! It was a Valentine’s present from Nirzhar – thank you, hubby! I wanted my first video to really count – and I think I captured it! John Gray spoke at the International Coaching Awareness Day this past Friday, and I asked if I could interview him on one point he made during his talk. Mainly, he stated that the reason he was so successful was because he stayed true to his essence. I wanted to know more about that so I could share it all with you! It’s kind of funny, too, because it is my very first video with the new camera, so I had it pointing at the floor when I started shooting! Too funny!

Friday is almost here, and I’m so excited! I’m going to meet John Gray and Jim Cathcart in person during ICF-Orange County’s ICAD (International Coaching Awareness Day) event! Not only is it about meeting these fabulous speakers, but it’s about how ICF – Orange County is helping the coaching community be more widely known through the businesses, corporations and individuals. Last year the event sold-out at 200. So, if you want to join me you better sign-up quickly at www.ICFOrangeCounty.org. See you there!

Hellooo, Indra!

Hey, Indra, you’ve got a new face! Yes, we’ve been working for over a year (in between our clients’ work) to bring this new brand to you, our coaching clientele! We wanted to show you that we’re here not just for our loyal life coaching clients, but our new and budding business and executive coaching clients. Plus, I would like to welcome a new niche to our Indra Successful Coach Marketing brand: professional speakers! We’ve been working with you for a while, actually, but you never got any real acknowledgment on our website.
So, this blog will be more about our Indra Successful Coach Marketing information, while our popular Helping Hands For Coaches blog will continue to be a resource for professional speakers, business coaches, executive coaches and life coaches (even your entrepreneur clients!) to learn how to utilize the internet to bring business and support current clients.
I want to take this opportunity to say “THANK YOU” to my amazing team! You all are awesome!

What Should You Blog About?
Posted by
Rachel Pradhan
So, you have the blog up and running – but, now the big question (that I often get) – now what? You might be thinking, “There’s this big, beautiful, empty blog staring at me – and it’s a little intimidating!” The best advice I can give you, is first:
1. Research what other bloggers in your market are blogging about. Don’t shy away from your competition, but don’t write exactly the same stuff they’re writing about. Knowing what your competition is writing about will give you some ideas and a sense of comfort.
2. Be yourself – and don’t over-think it. One thing I’ve noticed from blogs that I follow is that they don’t over-think their post. Sometimes it’s spontaneous, sometimes it’s a great planned post, but it’s usually short, sweet, and to the point.
3. Don’t be a spam blog (an ugly name for a spam blog is ‘splog‘ – sounds like a flattened frog – yuck!). That means the only reason you have a blog is to promote you, you, you. Be interesting, or no one will be interested (and who really wants to be as interesting as a splattered frog?)
How do you know if the blog you’re reading is good? Check-out the Technorati stats:
1. Look at the Authority Rating: it should be higher than other blogs. This is relative, so I can’t say ‘it should be over 20′, because it would depend on how popular other blogs are in the same category.
2. If you’re looking at the Technorati ‘Rank’: it should be a lower number (for instance, it would be totally awesome to be ranked in the top 100 blogs).
The best way to know what your audience would like to hear about is by talking to them. So, when you’re out at networking groups, or you’re talking with a client, ask them: What are your interests? What do you struggle with? What blogs do you currently read? What are you looking for? Then take note- they’re telling you how to bring your blank blog canvas to life!
